15.08.11 - Introducing Anjli London.
Here at Avaa, we are excited to introduce a new brand to our collection, Anjli London. We love to hear what inspired Anjli to create her luxurious brand and thought we would share our new found knowledge with you all. We love an inspiring story.....
Avaa: So, Anjli, what inspires you to create these beautiful handbags?
Anjli: I would say that my inspiration comes from nature and my surroundings really. Fractuals, flowers and geometric shapes feature heavily in my designs, along with an element of maths too.
Avaa: That sounds like an elegant thought process. What made you actually wake up one morning and decide that you were going to design handbags?
Anjli: I have been designing for myself to match my own slightly eccentric taste since a young age. Friends and family would often ask me to design bespoke looks for them. The final push came while volunteering in a charity shop in Chelsea, when donors repeatedly wanted to order the items I'd created which I was wearing and carrying whilst in the shop and area.
Avaa: That's a great beginning for a brand. Where to you see your label in, say five years time?
Anjli: Ummm....I would say having an increased global presence for the bags, bangles and shawls and venturing fully into furniture design and footwear.
Avaa: The thought of Anjli shoes is a very exciting one! We cant wait. So on a final note, which celebrity do you think could wear Anjli well?
Anjli: We have a number of celebrities who already wear Anjli, like La Toya Jackson, Katie Price, Joan Rivers and Ayesha Dharker. I would say that since we cover a wide range of products from simple yet stylishly elegant, to sparkly, outrageously fun and bold statement pieces, any one could wear our products. I really feel that its the accessories that make the outfit.
Avaa: Well, we couldn't agree more with Anjli. The accessories really do make the outfit and we know for certain that an Anjli handbag is enough to turn an ordinary outfit into a glamorous show stopper. We really cant decide on a favorite, and we're sure neither can you.
